Held at the Avantik Training Academy, you’ll receive an advanced training session with hands-on training including grossing, mapping and inking, sectioning, and staining. Training also includes lectures with helpful tips for trouble-shooting and review of your procedure manual for CLIA compliance.

The ASMH offers customized, hands-on training sessions through its Advanced Mohs Technician Training Program. This on-site training includes lecture and hands-on training on topics such as mapping and inking, embedding, staining, cryosectioning, CLIA regulations, troubleshooting, and more. This program is designed to enhance both the performance and quality of work of established Mohs technicians - those with at least six months of experience in Mohs. Please note that this training is not an official Histotech Certification program, nor is it intended for techs with no experience.

Fundamentals of Mohs Surgery for Physicians and Mohs Technicians
This four-day annual course focuses on the Mohs surgery as the treatment of choice for certain basal and squamous cell carcinomas and other cutaneous malignancies. A wide variety of Mohs procedural and practice topics will be discussed. Dermatologists and other specialists interested in performing this highly- effective treatment for skin cancer will benefit from this important “need to know” material such as Mohs indications, wound mapping, normal skin-BCC-SCC-unusual tumor histopathology, Mohs surgical pearls, coding and reimbursement, laboratory supervision, CLIA-OSHA consideration, and other vital information.
